First-time patients and dental emergency patients at Buckner Family Dental get a free consultation and a free second opinion from Dr. Jaime Osorio, DDS. Bring any treatment plan you have been given and we will tell you plainly what you need and what it costs. Call 214-328-3595.
In medicine, asking for a second opinion before major treatment is routine. Dentistry should be no different. Getting one is not a sign of distrust toward your first dentist; it is a normal step when the treatment is expensive, permanent or hard to undo, such as removing a tooth or reshaping enamel for veneers.
Dr. Osorio examines your teeth, reviews your existing plan and any X-rays you bring, and explains each recommendation. You leave with a clear plan and a written price. There is no obligation to start treatment.
Dr. Osorio checks each tooth named on your plan and looks at your gums, your bite and any old fillings or crowns. If your X-rays are missing or out of date, we take the images needed to see what is happening below the gumline. He then goes through the plan item by item and tells you whether he agrees, disagrees or would suggest something different.
You receive a written plan from our office with a price for each recommended procedure. If your plan was written by another licensed dentist for the same treatment, our quote beats it. You are free to take the plan home, think it over and come back when you are ready.
| Situation | What the review can clarify |
|---|---|
| Several crowns recommended | Some teeth may only need a filling, or can be watched for now |
| Tooth marked for extraction | A root canal and crown may save the tooth, or extraction may be the right call |
| Implant vs. bridge vs. denture | A side-by-side look at cost, time and how each option fits your mouth |
| Emergency pain | What is causing it and the options to relieve it, with a price before work begins |
Sometimes a second opinion confirms the first plan exactly. That is a useful answer too, because it lets you start treatment with confidence.
Replacing missing teeth is one of the most common reasons for a second opinion, because the options differ so much in cost and time. Dr. Osorio places both standard and mini implants and also makes bridges and dentures, so he can compare all of them for your mouth instead of steering you toward one.
A plan with many crowns at once deserves a careful look. Some teeth with old fillings truly need crowns; others can be repaired more simply or monitored. We point out which teeth show real risk of cracking and which do not.
Once a tooth is removed it cannot be put back. Before you agree to an extraction, we check whether a root canal and crown could save the tooth and explain what replacing it would involve if it does come out.
Cosmetic plans are flexible by nature. We can tell you whether whitening, aligners or a smaller number of veneers would reach the look you want. Porcelain veneers are $950 per tooth and Invisalign or Dandy clear aligners are $3,600. Prices are for typical cases and are confirmed after your exam.
Pain, swelling or a broken tooth can push you to agree to treatment quickly. Emergency patients at Buckner Family Dental get a free consultation, so you know what is wrong and what your choices are before you commit. If swelling makes it hard to breathe or swallow, go to the nearest emergency room or call 911 first. For a toothache or broken tooth, call 214-328-3595 during office hours, Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, or ask about a Friday or Saturday appointment.
You have a right to copies of your dental records. Call the office that wrote your plan and ask for a copy of the treatment plan with fees and your most recent X-rays. Many offices can email digital X-rays directly to us. If it takes a few days, go ahead and book your visit anyway; Dr. Osorio can still examine you and take any images he needs.
Having your records ready also means fewer repeat X-rays and a faster, clearer comparison of what each office is recommending and why.
We welcome Spanish-speaking patients and offer new patient forms in Spanish. You can read about our services in Spanish on our dentista en español page before your visit.
If you decide to go ahead, we file your dental insurance first. We accept most plans, including Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna, Delta Dental, Guardian, MetLife and UnitedHealthcare. The remaining balance can go on CareCredit or LendingClub, with zero down for qualified patients, or on a major credit card.
